Job seekers invited to Forest Service local hiring events

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Region is meeting potential local hires where they live, work, and go to school, by visiting Southeast and Southcentral Alaska communities for in-person hiring events planned for February and March.

    Before visiting with Forest Service staff, job hunters can take part in virtual pre-job fair coaching sessions for resume building and application assistance.

    Attend a virtual coaching workshop:

    Workshops offer resume and application questionnaire help, and a chance for job seekers to ask questions about the hiring process and positions available. Participants should have their resumes in hand and ready for review.

    Anyone who is unable to attend an in-person session can join the final, virtual hiring event Monday, March 6, from 4-7 p.m.

    Interested applicants should bring the following items to the hiring events:
    •    Resume – Bring a detailed resume, printed or electronic.
    •    References – Compile a list of at least three professional references that can be contacted.
    •    Questionnaire – Be sure to bring a completed copy of the local hiring questionnaire. It will be available Feb. 13 on the hiring website.

    Candidates can apply for jobs and ask questions about open agency positions. A list of available positions and details on ways to apply will be posted Feb. 13 online.
