JDHS standout Carson to play at Pepperdine

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Douglas' Kendyl Carson will be attending Pepperdine University in the fall on a basketball scholarship.

    Carson began her high school career as a starter for Juneau Douglas High School as a freshman. At the end of the year, she moved to Washington and had to sit out of varsity sports as a transfer student. 

    From that summer through the summer of her junior year, Kendyl was a member of  Tree of Hope, a top 10 team in the EYBL. 

    As a junior, Kendyl earned all-tournament honors for 3A Washington State Champions, Prairie High School, as well as being named to the Washington All-State team.

    As a senior, Kendyl returned to Alaska as the leader of the 22-3 Lady Crimson Bears team and was named first-team All-State.
