Jail inmate said to have killed puppy

Akiachak, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers said Brandon Kasayulie, 35, was arrested on assault in the fourth-degree charges and later killed a puppy that wandered into the jail.

Troopers said a 27 year old female reported she had been assaulted by the subject on Saturday.

Troopers added the female had obvious signs of physical injury and was only partially dressed.

After Kasayulie was arrested a puppy wanted into the jail and he was able to reach out and pull it into his cell.

Troopers went on to state Kasayulie allegedly killed the puppy in the cell.

He was charged with animal cruelty.

Kasayulie ran from the jail but was quickly apprehended.

He was transported to Bethel to await a court appearance.
