Election results released in 2022 Alaska General Election

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Division of Election has released unofficial results in this year's general election.

    As of 10:16 am Thursday, all 402 precincts have reported, and 217,835 votes have been counted so far.

    In the U.S. Senate race, the winner will serve a six-year term. Republican Kelly Tshibaka currently leads with 44% of the vote, or 94,138. Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski follows with 91,205, and Democrat Pat Chesbro, 20,265.

    The winner in the U.S. Congressional race will serve a two-year term. Democrat Congresswoman Mary Peltola leads with 101,441 votes, or 47%, and former Republican Governor Sarah Palin follows with 57,035 votes. Republican Nick Begich is in third with 51,927 votes, and Libertarian Chris Bye, 3,716.

    Incumbent Republican Mike Dunleavy leads the race for governor with 111,897 votes, or 52%. Former Democrat lawmaker Les Gara follows with 49,596, former Independent Governor Bill Walker trails Gara with 43,203 votes. Kenai Borough Mayor, Republican Charlie Pierce, is in fourth with 9,778.

    On Ballot Measure #1, asking voters whether to hold a constitutional convention, the No votes lead with 145,937, the Yes votes have received 62,985.
