Iditarod Board announces changes

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) A former Olympian is one of four new board members for the sled dog race.

    Cross country skier Nina Kemppel was among the group appointed to the board of directors.  The others are Karen King, chief executive officer of Spawn ideas, an advertising agency, Mike Mills, legal counsel for Dorsey & Whitney, LLP law firm in Anchorage, and Ryan York, senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Bristol Bay Native Corporation.

    Kemppel is currently chief executive officer of the Alaska Community Foundation.  It is a group that supports philanthropy to strengthen Alaska communities.
