Hiker located after night in the wild

Skagway, Alaska (KINY) A Florida man became separated from his friend and spent the night on the A&B Trail.

Alaska State Troopers said Rob Diacheysn, 27, was reported overdue from a hiking trip by a friend Monday morning.  The Skagway Fire Department and Search and Rescue began a search and located the man about three hours later.  He was found in good condition.

Diacheysn did not have emergency gear of camping equipment with him and his cell phone went straight to voice mail.  Troopers said the man became disoriented and came down the Matthews Creek drainage.

He had been last seen by the friend around 9 pm Sunday night.  They called authorities when he did not return.
