Hiker dies during fall

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A 36-year-old hiker died during a fall in the area of Basin Road on Friday, Juneau Police said

    Lt. Krag Campbell said two males had gone hiking and one of them slid down on a snow chute near the Perseverance Trail in the area of Last Chance Basin.

    One of the males slipped off about an eight-foot drop, struck his head on a rock and died.

    The deceased is identified as 36-year-old Anthony Michael Medina.

    The second man, a Juneau resident, was uninjured.
