Heroin bust announced

    Craig, Alaska (KINY) Two arrests were made on drug charges after a search warrant was executed Saturday.

    A joint operation by Prince of Wales State Troopers, Craig Police and Klawock Police, searched a residence at 470 Summit Street and allegedly seized 56 grams of heroin with a street value of at least $56,000.

    A dispatch from State Troopers said Gae Yates, 58, of Klawock and Armetta Barden, 60, of Seattle, were charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.  More charges are possible as the investigation continues.

    Troopers went on to report that they seized drug paraphernalia like digital scales and electronics.  They also seized an undisclosed amount of suspected drug cash in the search.
