Guilty plea in large Ketchikan drug case

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Spencer Hill of Bellingham Washington pled guilty to federal charges related to the seizure of $1 million in illegal narcotics.

    Hill, 23, pled guilty to a charge of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.

    His sentence hearing was scheduled for June 25 in Juneau.

    Hill was arrested on November 6, 2019 at a Ketchikan hotel.  Police said they seized a half-pound of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, a stolen pistol and a money counting machine during the investigation.

    Police said they also seized 3.2 pounds of meth and nearly 1.8 pounds of heroin from the suspect's safety deposit box.
