Governors mansion vandalized

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A Soldotna man, David A. Powell, 54, was cited for criminal mischief.

Juneau Police said security at the mansion reported an individual hammered a sign to the front door of the mansion on January 20.  There was about $450 in damage reported.

The police report said the door was the original one placed on the mansion.

Police said they were able to identify the suspect through video surveillance cameras.

Powell will appear in court at a later date.

Lt. Krag Campbell said the police report did not mention what might have been written on the sign.
