Governor requests meeting with local Assembly

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Governor Mike Dunleavy wants to meet with the Juneau Assembly.

Such a meeting originally scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon has been delayed.

Juneau Mayor Beth Weldon was asked about that on Action Line.  "The Governor's office actually reached out to the city and so we're trying to figure out what's the best way to do that.  We are looking at trying to do something next week or the week after and he wanted to explain his budget and some of what his ideas were and we're just trying to figure out the best way to make that happen."

If and when that happens, the Governor is likely to get an earful on the state shifting costs to local governments and his actions in the past to convene legislative sessions outside the Capital City among other things.
