Gov. Dunleavy issues new, modified COVID-19 mandates

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - The administration added two new mandates Thursday and updated three past mandates related to COVID-19.

    According to the governor, Health Mandate No. 13 states that all public schools and learning institutions will be closed to students and staff through the end of the school year.

    The governor also added Health Mandate No. 14, which will allow school districts to carry more than the statutory 10 percent of their budgets over to the following school year.

    Additionally, Health Mandate No. 6, which suspended elective oral surgeries, has been extended until further notice.

    Health Mandate Nos. 11 and 12, which deal with social distancing and intrastate travel, respectively, have been extended until at least April 21.
