Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - Governor Mike Dunleavy has announced Nancy Dahlstrom as his running mate in the 2022 election.
Dahlstrom, the former Commissioner of the Alaska State Department of Corrections, is also a past Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 18th district.
Former Commissioner Dahlstrom will take the place of Lt. Gov. Kevin Meyer, who declined to run this year.
She was appointed to the House at the beginning of the legislative session in 2003 when then U.S. Representative-elect, Lisa Murkowski was appointed to her father's U.S. Senate seat.
Dunleavy joined Dahlstrom to file for the 2022 election on Monday in Anchorage.
