Furloughed feds invited to attend symphony performances

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Symphony is inviting Federal employees and families to attend for free.

Furloughed workers and other employees affected by the shutdown can join guest conductor Tigran Arakelyan and the Juneau Symphony performing the Russian Romantics.

    Saturday's concert starts at 7 p.m. and Sunday's concert starts at 3 p.m.

The Concert Conversation takes place one hour prior to the performance start times at 6 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

The program features Capriccio Espagnol, the work of master orchestrator Rimsky-Korasakov -- and Capriccio Italien, a piece inspired by Tchaikovsky's visit to Rome.

The program will conclude with Alexander Borodin's energetic and impassioned Second Symphony.
