Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - This weekend's Slush Mush dog walking event will help fundraise for Juneau Animal Rescue's pets that need special treatments.
"Proceeds will go to help the animals in need at the shelter," said Samantha Blankenship, executive director at JAR. "A lot of the things that we can use extra funding for are special-needs animals." She specifically mentioned an animal with diabetes in foster care right now that the money could help pay for its insulin.
"Besides spaying and neutering and vaccines, anything above and beyond that, we have to fundraise for," she said. She added that the proceeds JAR receives "will go to help get those animals ready to go into their news homes and be ready to for the next year of their lives in a healthy and happy way."
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, and will have staggered start times. More information and a link for registration are available here.
