Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Fred Meyers is re-opening today at 9 a.m. following Monday's closure due to concerns about considerable snow on the roof.
Juneau Emergency Programs Manager Tom Mattice said that Fred Meyers has worked through their problem, with crews showing up at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. He said they should have everything back in full swing.
Mattice said the store was concerned with snow load, as well as roof drainage issues. The store has shoveled down and found the drains. Additional snow removal was also done on the rest of the roof. "They're feeling good about everything, getting back open and running today."
