Kroger's face mask requirement for employees went into effect at all stores nationwide Sunday.
The company is supplying faces masks for all associates.
Employees can also bring their own masks from home.
CEO Rodney McMullen also announced a new scan, bag and go app.
This allows customers to use your phone to pay for the items they buy.
You simply scan your items and check out on your own.
Kroger is requesting all customers wear masks.
Some states and municipalities have made it mandatory.
Kroger operates 11 food stores and 10 jewelry stores in Alaska and employs over 3,200 people.
Kroger is the parent company of Fred Meyer.
