Fairbanks, Alaska (KINY) A two-vehicle crash at mile marker 185 killed two people instantly, and two people later died at a hospital.
Alaska State Troopers said the crash was caused by a 2017 Dodge Van that was passing a commercial vehicle in a no passing zone. The names of the victims were not immediately released so the families could be notified.
Troopers said the van collided with a 2007 Ford F 150 pickup truck. The two occupants of the van died at the scene. Life Med helicopters airlifted the three from the Ford to Anchorage, and two of the three later died. The truck was driven by a 23-year-old man, with a 21-year-old female passenger and a two-year-old boy. The child was listed in serious condition.
Troopers continue to investigate.
