Sonora, California (KINY) - The former superintendent of the Juneau School District has parted ways with his new district in California.
According to the Union Democrat newspaper in Sonora, California, Dr. Mark Miller is out as superintendent of Sonora Union High School district.
In a Feb. 14 press release, Sonora School Board chairman Jim Riggs announced Miller and the board had “agreed to part ways.”
“The district and the superintendent decided that it was in the best interest of students, staff and the community to begin transitioning leadership in a manner that ensures a continued focus on student achievement,” the press release said.
The release called Miller “gracious” in expressing thanks to those who helped during his tenure.
He took the position in Sonora in August 2018 after four years in Juneau.
