Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Suspensions of fireworks use and sales were lifted for the Northern Panhandle including Haines, Skagway, and Juneau.

The Alaska State Fire Marshal’s Office, in consultation with the State Forester’s Office and in accordance with Alaska Administrative Code 50.025 Fire Code, made the decision Monday night.

Fireworks sales and use suspensions were lifted because the fire risk had been lowered to moderate and low in this region.

Suspensions continue in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Denali Borough, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Copper River Valley, including Glennallen south to Valdez, and the Tanana Valley north of the Alaska Range.
