Fire reported on shoreline across from Eagle Beach

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Capital City Fire Rescue and other agencies are currently assisting with a wildland fire across the river from Eagle Beach.

The USDA Forest Service is currently working on extinguishing the fire. They are utilizing helicopters, ATVs and personnel.

The organizations fighting the blaze are requesting that citizens give crews plenty of space to work.

CCFR and 911 dispatch are maintaining communication with the U.S. Forest Service.

The National Weather Service in Juneau has reported very warm and dry weather expected for the next few days will increase fire danger over the Alaska Panhandle.

The near or above record temperatures due to building high pressure and down sloping winds along with very low relative humidity will continue to dry out fuels.

People should take extra caution with any open fires and be aware of wind changes through the day.

    This is a developing story.
