Ferries delayed by fog

    Wrangell, Alaska (KINY) Dense Fog in the Wrangell narrows has delayed two ferries today.

    The Alaska Department of Transportation reports the Kennicott and Columbia are delayed until conditions improve. The Columbia is anchored in the Narrows and the Kennicott is remaining on station just south of the narrows. As of 10:30 a.m. today, the Kennicott is four hours behind schedule and the Columbia is nine hours behind schedule. 

    AMHS is contacting affected passengers through the terminals. Revised schedules will be disseminated after the fog clears and the vessels are making way towards the next port of call.

The mission of the department is to "Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure."
