Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Work began Monday on the trail and wetland area along Duck Creek in the valley. It is set to continue throughout the month.

Improvements will be made, including clearing trees, controlling stormwater, and creating a walkway. MRV Architects, TrailMix Inc., and the Southeast Alaska Watershed Coalition are collaborating on the improvements.

There will be a community planting day on June 19 at 10 a.m. at the bridge near Duck Creek Market, where community members can help rehabilitate and beautify the area.

For more information, contact Parks and Recreation at 586-5226 or MRV Architects' Kevin Jeffery at kevin@mvarchitects.com or 586-1371.
