Drowning reported

Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) Police said alcohol appeared to be a factor in a drowning near Hole in the Wall boat launch.

Alaska State Troopers report Doretta Dowhitt, 66, was found floating in the water early today.

Troopers said it appeared Dowhitt fell down the steep embankment near her residence and fell into the water.  Troopers went on to report that a neighbor spotted the body, pulled her from the water and alerted authorities.

    Life-saving measures were unsuccessful.

Troopers said an autopsy would be performed by the State Medical Examiners Office in Anchorage.
