Draft mining ordinance, Centennial Hall & Hurlock property on COW agenda

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The draft mining ordinance prepared by an Assembly subcommittee is up for consideration Monday evening by the Assembly Committee of the Whole.

    Sarah Davidson is the Inside Passage Program Manager for the Southeast Alaska Conservation Council.  She says they  monitored the subcommittee process very closely and appreciate the tremendous effort by members and City Attorney Amy Mead to review and clarify the ordinance while keeping the content intact.

    Davidson added that they expect the Committee of the Whole to accept the subcommittee's recommendation.

    Also on the committee agenda is governance of Centennial Hall and disposition of the Hurlock Property.

    The committee of the whole meeting is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m. in Assembly Chambers at City Hall.
