Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Sealaska Heritage Institute has been working on the construction of a new arts campus downtown across the street from its Soboleff Building in the former parking lot.
Chief of Operations Lee Kadinger updated us on the progress of construction while on Action Line. He said they have finished the perimeter walls and are now doing some of the support walls and columns within the garage itself. He figures by mid-May they'll have the deck of the plaza in place.
The total project cost exceeds a little over $13 Million, according to Kadinger, with about $12.5 Million raised. He said they may add some elements to the project, but are waiting to see how the fundraising materializes first.
