Docks and Harbors Board to discuss creation of various subcommittees

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ Docks and Harbors Board of Directors faces a light agenda as far as action items during Thursday evening's meeting, but it will not lack for significance.

Port Director Carl Uchytil explains it will be a strategic planning session that will focus on the proposed creation of various ad hoc committees.  "I could see the board debating each and every one of these ad hoc meeting opportunities to fine-tune them, to provide a direction of how best to serve the community of Juneau.  It's up to the board if they want to tackle bigger issues and have subcommittees that address them directly."

The port director explained that in the past staff has basically brought ideas and prospects to the board, but that it might be the board wants to take a more active influential role in the direction the department takes.

The Docks and Harbors Board meeting is scheduled to convene at 5 p.m.

Members of the public can participate via Zoom or telephone.

Details on how to do that are posted on the Docks and Harbors web site
