Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Eligible residents who signed up for a direct deposit for the 2021 Permanent Fund Dividend will see it added to their bank accounts this week
Genevieve Wojtusik, Department of Revenue spokesperson said Alaskans should expect their direct deposit payments this week.
"The PFD division is working diligently with our financial partners to complete all transactions necessary to pay a dividend by the end of this week, some Alaskan's MyPFD records who have been determined eligible and are in a paid status for this year in 2021 Direct Deposit dividend payments are showing a deposit date of October 14th," she said. "Because each financial institution has a different timeline, and with the Federal holiday Monday, we are hopeful that Alaskans will see the funds in their accounts before the end of this week."
Wojtusik said for those who opted to receive a paper check, the department will be sending out those payments the week of October 25th,
Wojtusik also talked about the staffing shortage leading to the closure of some PFD offices,
"We had some staffing shortage issues, and the Anchorage and Fairbanks offices are closed currently, but our phone queues are open, as always 10am to 4pm, and the Juneau branch is open 10am to 4pm as well."
She says the shortage will not have an effect on the distribution of the checks.
