DHSS reports 5 new COVID-19 cases in Southeast

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported five new resident cases of COVID-19 in Southeast on Monday.

    Three cases were revealed in Juneau, and one new resident case was reported on Prince of Wales Island and in Wrangell.

    There have been 3,341 cumulative resident cases, with a total of 723 non-resident cases.

    The report also listed 946 cases as recovered. There are 2,370 active cases in the state.

    One new death was reported, raising the total to 25 so far.

    Twenty-eight Alaskans are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 patients, with four on a ventilator.
