DHSS adds 4 new COVID-19 cases in Southeast

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported 101 new cases of COVID-19 statewide on Thursday.

    Juneau added two new cases, while Wrangell and Prince of Wales each added one.

    The total from Thursday included 97 resident cases and four non-resident cases.

    There have been a total of 227 hospitalizations and 40 deaths with two new hospitalizations and one new death reported Wednesday. The person who died was a male Anchorage resident in his 70s.

    Five resident cases from July were added for the Fairbanks area. This adjustment brings the total number of Alaska resident cases to 5,466 and the total number of non-resident cases to 873.

    New cases reported Thursday included 51 in Anchorage.
