Details released in officer involved shooting

    Fairbanks, Alaska (KINY) - Police said Kevin Ray McEnulty, 25, died in the shooting March 31, and that two officers fired their service weapons.

    Alaska State Troopers said Sgt. Aaron Mobley, who has over 15 years of service, and Trooper Michael Kay, who has nearly four years of service, were involved in the shooting death.

    Police responded to a call of shots fired and located the suspect later inside a vehicle parked on Geist Road.  Troopers reported the suspect brandished a firearm and was fired upon by the two officers.

    At the conclusion of this investigation, the case will be turned over to the Alaska Department of Law, Office of Special Prosecutions to determine if the use of force was legally justified under Alaska law., Troopers added.
