Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - State Troopers followed up Tuesday on a notification last month alleging that a man had been sexually abusing a juvenile family member for over a decade.
In a dispatch, they identify the man as 53-year-old Delta Junction resident Vladimir Kurilchenko.
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation launched a thorough investigation into the allegations.
According to the dispatch, their investigation substantiated the reports of sexual abuse that began in Ukraine when the victim was six years old and also occurred in Washington and Alaska.
Kurilchenko was arrested by investigators Tuesday afternoon on two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the first degree.
Kurilchenko was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.
The investigation is ongoing, Troopers said additional charges may be filed.
