Cunard Lines returns to Southeast Alaska with Queen Elizabeth

    The Queen Elizabeth pulls into Juneau on Saturday, May 18.

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A famed vessel has returned a historic cruise line name to the region.

    The Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth docked in Juneau on Saturday, marking the first time in 20 years that a Cunard ship has sailed to Alaska.  

    The ship has the capacity for 2,057 passengers and will also visit Skagway, Ketchikan and Sitka during the summer.

    The Queen Elizabeth is Cunard's newest vessel, launched in 2010. 

    The Cunard Line is an American-owned shipping company. It is owned by the Carnival Corporation.
