Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Buddy, the Juneau Police Department's K9 officer now has a place to hang out at the department thanks to Juneau Crime Line - Crimestoppers.
They arranged to have a kennel built for him, according to board member Robin Paul, who was asked how the idea came about.
She explained that Buddy's handler, Officer Mike Wise, informed them during a monthly meeting the board has with department personnel that a kennel for Buddy was at the top of his needs list, but there was no funding.
So Paul said they put their heads together and came up with a plan which included a "Build Buddy a Kennel Wildlife Cruise" in 2019.
Work on the kennel was completed in December and is now in place at JPD headquarters for Buddy's lounging breaks.
