Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A Juneau man was arrested after a crash on Egan Drive Wednesday, Juneau Police say.
Christopher King, 26, was charged with two misdemeanors, operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated, and reckless endangerment after the accident at 3:18 pm on Egan Drive near the Fred Meyer store.
Capitol City Fire Rescue responded and checked on Mr. King and a 25 year old male passenger. Both occupants declined medical attention. The 2010 Ford Taurus allegedly left the road and landed in a ditch. Police said high speeds contributed to the crash. Mr. King apparently was north bound and swerved to avoid another vehicle making a left turn and left the road. The estimate of damage to the vehicle was $10,000.
Police said King had a blood alcohol concentration of .161, over twice the legal limit.
