COVID-19 update 10-4

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - 49 new cases of COVID were reported in Juneau today, by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, 45 residents, and four nonresidents.

    According to Juneau Public Health, there are 143 active cases, as of Monday morning, including 38 cases in individuals younger than 18.

    There are currently 6 people hospitalized with COVID at Bartlett Regional Hospital

    The Juneau School District reported 5 new individuals who tested positive while in the schools,

    Three at Sayéik: Gastineau Elementary, resulting in two classrooms quarantined
    One at Auke Bay Elementary resulting in one class being quarantined,
    and one at Mendenhall River Community School resulting in four classes quarantined

    Statewide, 2,290 new cases were reported.

    2,235 were residents and 55 were nonresidents.

    The state also reported the death of a Kusilvak Census Area man in his 50s.
