COVID-19 resident cases rise to 755

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services found an increase of 14 cases Sunday. This total included two non-residents.

    The daily report stated 475 people have recovered and 61 have been hospitalized during the pandemic.

    The death numbers remained at 12.

    The daily report also showed 268 active cases.  This is an increase of 11 cases from Friday.

    In Southeast Alaska, Haines had two cases with one active, Juneau 39 cases with four active, Ketchikan 21 cases with five active, Sitka 11 cases with nine active, and Wrangell three cases, with two active.

    The state said 15 people are either hospitalized or considered a person under investigation for having the virus.

    The new cases occurred in Anchorage, North Pole, Bristol Bay Borough, Fairbanks, Homer and Palmer.

    There have been 106 cases of non-residents.
