Coronavirus to change Assembly's rules of procedure

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - In addition to an update on the coronavirus and hot its impacting Juneau, the Assembly will take up a resolution at Monday evening's meeting that calls for changes to its rules of procedure because of the virus.

Assemblymember Carole Triem said on Action Line that it does three things.  It would allow up to five members to participate by telephone; encourage seating for the pubic to be three to six feet apart, and encourage CBJ meetings with substantial public interest to be broadcast live such as Facebook live.

And Triem said public comment can be made short of showing up at meetings.  "You can always email us.  That's always an option.  There's a
form online on the CBJ web site where you can contact the whole assembly or individual assembly members or you can e-mail borough.assembly@juneau.org."

Monday night's Assembly meeting is scheduled to convene at 7 o'clock in Assembly Chambers at City Hall.
