Washington, DC (ABC) - America's nurses are pulling double and triple shifts in hospitals, clinics, and doctor's offices to combat COVID-19.
Many of these nurses are appealing for help from policymakers and the public.
The American Nurses Association has surveyed its members, finding them in desperate need of personal protective equipment not just N95 masks.
ANA President Dr. Ernest Grant said they also need face shields, goggles, gowns, gloves, and jumpsuits.
The group called on Congress to increase funding for PPE.
Dr. Grant said the public can help the health care industry by staying at home and practicing good hand hygiene and sanitation.
