Convicted Soldota man found with gun at the scene of car crash

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A Soldotna man was arrested by troopers after they found a handgun at the scene of a car wreck near Kalifornsky beach.

    Last week on the 27th, Troopers received a report of a car rollover near mile ten of Kalifornsky Beach between Kasilof and Soldotna.

    Troopers say the driver, 33-year-old Soldotna man Sean Spiers, was fleeing on foot, but was arrested for felony DUI.

    According to the dispatch, a handgun was found at the scene of the crash, and it was discovered that Spiers was a convicted felon

    He was remanded on charges of Felony DUI, Misconduct involving a weapon in the 3rd and 4th degree, failure to report an accident, and driving while revoked.
