Congress reaches deal on COVID-19 aid package

    Washington, DC (ABC News) - The $2 trillion-dollar economic relief package was agreed in the early morning hours today.

    Senate Republicans and Democrats coming to terms on a massive stimulus package to help millions of Americans and businesses struggling in wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

    The bill is expected to provide a one-time payment of $1,200 to most American taxpayers.

    The bill also boosts unemployment benefits and provides over $800 billion in assistance to businesses big and small.

    Details and the final language on the 2-trillion-dollar deal are expected later today -- with a vote to follow.

    All indications point to the legislation passing.

    It comes after nearly a week of arduous negotiations between the two parties and the White House.
