Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau is responding to Gov. Mike Dunleavy's COVID-19 announcement on Thursday.
Given Gov. Dunleavy’s new Declaration of Public Health Disaster Emergency, which takes effect Nov. 16, the CBJ anticipates remaining at Level 3-High through the month of November.
Community risk will be reevaluated at that time and adjusted as appropriate. At this time, CBJ is not raising the risk level or implementing any new measures.
The guidance in the governor’s message includes maintaining a distance of six feet from all non-household members, wearing a mask or face covering, and utilizing online ordering and curbside pickup.
These recommendations are consistent with the CBJ Emergency Operations Center mitigation strategies for Level 3 High, which were fully implemented in October.
