Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau is waving the signature requirement for the Senior Sales Tax Exemption log sheet at stores aimed at mitigating the spread of coronavirus.
In addition, seniors can assign a designated shopper to use their exemption card on their behalf.
Juneau Chamber of Commerce President Charlie Williams offered this reaction on Action Line. "It makes perfect sense. It really does make perfect sense. Limiting contact is one of the major tenets of prevention and this certainly helps with that."
Additional information on applying for the designated shopper program is available from the CBJ Sales Tax Office at 586-5265.
