CBJ approves additional help for businesses

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ assembly heard unanimous support from struggling business owners that supported using $2.3 million in federal dollars to help keep their doors open.

The Extreme Hardship Grant Program is for Juneau businesses that have lost over 50 percent of their revenue this year due to COVID-19.

The Juneau Economic Development Council will administer these grants.

Several business owners said mandates to close their doors, and others to limit capacity have made it hard for them to pay bills and employees.
