CBJ and State report COVID numbers

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting two new residents identified with COVID-19.

Public Health is attributing both cases to secondary transmission.

Yesterday, CBJ reported four new cases of COVID-19, one of which was still under investigation.

Public Health now attributes that case to secondary transmission and says it is part of the cluster associated with a small Juneau business.

That cluster is at 10 individuals, including four recovered.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 189 new people identified with COVID-19.

173 are residents and 16 are nonresidents.

The state also reports a recent death of a nonresident – a male in his 70s in the seafood industry in the Aleutians East Borough, bringing the total number of nonresident deaths to four.
