CBJ and State report COVID cases from Thursday

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Nine new COVID-19 cases were reported by the City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center Thursday. The center reports six are residents and three are nonresidents.

    Of the resident cases, Public Health is attributing three to secondary transmission while the others are under investigation.  

    Of the nonresident cases, only one is new.  The other two are older cases not previously reported.  All are from the mining sector.

    There are 33 active cases in Juneau.  All remain in isolation.

    Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 203 new cases.

    One recent death was also reported.  It was an Anchorage woman in her 70s which brings the state's death toll to 252.
