CBJ and State report COVID case count

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new resident identified with COVID-19.

    Public Health is attributing the case to secondary transmission.

    Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 113 new people identified with COVID-19.

    112 are residents and one is a nonresident.

    The state also reports a recent death – a male Anchorage resident in his 80s.

    According to the Department of Health and Social Services as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 8,926 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 7,117 are fully vaccinated.

    Statewide, 187,069 people have received their first dose, and 128,434 are fully vaccinated.
