CBJ and partners work together on isolation-quarantine facility

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ is in the planning stages to use Centennial Hall to serve people who are unable to quarantine and isolate at home.

The CBJ said the isolation and quarantine help protect the public by preventing exposure to infected individuals or to individuals who may be infected.

Isolation applies to those who display COVID-19 symptoms, those awaiting test results, and those who received positive test results but don't require hospitalization.

Quarantine for 14 days is required if symptoms develop.

The CBJ plans to separate areas for isolation and quarantine in the hall.

Mount Jumbo gym in Douglas was set up as a temporary emergency isolation and quarantine facility.
