Candidate for congress doesn't live here

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Democratic Party leaders have questions about the candidacy of Carol Hafner who says she lives in South Dakota and New Jersey.

Hafner hasn't even been to Alaska in her life.

The Alaska Division of Elections said challenges were filed by democrats in the race but they were made after the protest deadline.  Under the U.S. Constitution, a candidate must inhabit the state at the time of election.  They must also meet certain age and citizenship requirements.

The leading democrats in the race are Alyse Galvin and Demitri Shein.  The winner will face incumbent congressman Don Young.
