Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - High winds downed trees and caused multiple power outages across Juneau on Saturday, Alaska Electric Light and Power officials said.

Trees were reported down across Juneau.  One large tree blocked Glacier Avenue near the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation building.

AEL&P crews responded to a road closure due to downed power lines on Mendenhall Peninsula.

Other calls included a power pole fire on Basin Road, an outage on Portage Blvd in the Julep Area, and outages in the Mendenhall Valley.

There was also a blown transformer that caused an outage in Douglas and a large tree on Sundown Drive in North Douglas that caused another outage.

The National Weather Service had predicted wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour on Saturday.
